"Kara Cox pushed her way through the shoulder-high weeds at her first assignment of the day, stepping over beer cans, fast-food wrappers and home-auction posters lying in the dirt.
She opened the side gate at the abandoned Glendale home and entered the backyard. Her suspicions were confirmed.
'The pool is breeding,' said Cox, a Maricopa County vector-control specialist. 'They've just hatched.'"
