"The Glendale City Council has approved a nearly $4.7 million contract for the construction of a new fire station east of the city's downtown area.
The contract was awarded Tuesday to FCI Constructors Inc., a firm based in Litchfield Park.
The new fire house will be a replacement for Fire Station 151, 5705 N. 55th Ave., an aging facility at Orangewood Avenue that went into service in 1969."
